Napier Art Deco Weekend |

Well its not just about surf. This time I
turned my camera to the Napier Art Deco Weekend. It was a true
step back in time with the towns unique style and architecture,
the town pulled out all the stops to make it one of the best
events I have been to in New Zealand.
This is a new gallery section with some
archive stuff appearing as well which covers other aspects
besides surfing. You will find images of places and events as
well as candid shots and the more artistic side of life.

Its been a while since my last outing with
the camera and with the north swell on the east coast, it was
time to clean the lens and get back out there. Some of the

This is from the first day of the RPM
Classic Christian Surfers event at Muriwai. 3-4ft and offshore
made this event even better. As well as surfing, a skateboarding
comp was also on the menu. I was there to capture the action for
you.

Billabong Grom Series |

The Billabong Grom Series was at Mt
Manganui on the east coast in front of New Zealand's first
artificial reef. I was there on the first day of this two day
event.

Nationals 2006 |

The Nationals was on at Shippies and the
Bluff. I was there to catch the action on finals day. With a
week of perfect weather and waves, this is one of the top events
of the surfing calendar.

Happy New Year |
|
A happy new year to you
all and hope you got some good waves over the break. Its been a
busy year what with a trip to the UK and the comp season under
way. Summer is here and the warm water is a joy to surf
in. The latest gallery is from Whatipu, the only place that is
great on the west coast when the SW winds blow.
The latest issue of
New Zealand Surfing
Magazine is now out and some of my pictures of the Maori
Nationals can be seen there. It was a great event with nice
sunny conditions and a great atmosphere. Click on the picture on

Late last year I got a
phone call from Rowan Klevstul of 09 Magazine for an interview.
09 is out now at your local surf shop or with New Zealand
Surfing Magazine and its free so grab a copy. Who said you cant
get something for nothing! After a half hour grilling
(only kidding!) you can see the fruits of his labour buy
clicking the picture on the right. It was quite amazing that I
didn't manage to bore him senseless.

New Years Surf 2006 |

New Years day and it
was off for the first surf of the New Year. Some nice waves and
sun, perfect. I also captured the pulling out of a beaked whale
which had died the previous day.
